Program ID 2612124

09:30 am - 12:00 pm (EST)
2.0 Credits
Course Description:
Last year, the high-profile claims of sexual harassment and assault started in Hollywood, the media and politics. But no industry is free from harassment; it is a pervasive and persistent scourge, and we now see a material increase in internal and external sexual harassment/#metoo claims in virtually every industry.

This seminar will focus on:
a) The core elements to a holistic approach to attacking harassment;
b) Practices that employers should consider that go beyond the basics;
c) Common mistakes in policies, procedures, corporate messaging and training;
d) The backlash: what it is (avoidance by men of women) and how to hit it head on;
e) Construction of a continuum of “bad behaviors,” which is relevant in taking “proportionate” corrective action; and
f) Key elements of a rapid response plan in the event of an allegation against a high profile employee.

The seminar will include lessons learned by Segal as a member of the EEOC’s Select Task Force on Harassment. However, Segal speaks for neither the EEOC nor its Task Force.
